A Very Nice Card From My Last Bride And Groom!

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

I received this nice photo in the mail yesterday.  It is from Katie and Wes.  Their wedding was in Seven Lakes, NC.  The image of them writing “Thank You” is from their engagement session.  In most cases, I include a free engagement session for my clients.  It’s an excellent way to create “Thank You” cards for friends and family after the wedding.  Thank you Katie and Wes!

Ellerbe Springs!

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Ellerbe Springs in Ellerbe, NC is a great place to take bridal portraits.  I have been working with owner Donna for over a year shooting images of brides and couples on their grounds.  I created this blog post so future brides can see the area from my perspective.  Click here to view a gallery of images from the Inn. These will give you a closer look at the overall feel of this quaint area.

Kimberly and Patrick’s Wedding – Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Kimberly and Patrick held their wedding at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC this past May.  The area is quite beautiful and the staff is very accommodating to the wedding party and family.

Congratulations Kim and Patrick!

Kristin and Josh – Having A Good Time

Monday, June 28th, 2010

There was a glitch with the original post of this so I have posted this again.

I had such a good time with Kristin and Josh. We shot everywhere! We were in downtown Manteo, the beach, the Pioneer Theatre and their venue. Press the play button in the bottom left corner to start the slide show.

Myrna and Paul’s Wedding – The Pointe Golf Club

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Myrna and Paul decided to hold their wedding and ceremony at The Pointe Golf Club in Powell’s Point, NC.  I had never shot there before.  I was very surprised at the hospitality of the facility.  There were rooms for the bridal party, plenty of reception space, and beautiful grounds for the ceremony and pictures.  I was able to spend some time with owner Keith Hall and his manager Angela.  They are both fast at work creating an all-inclusive wedding facility with the Pointe.  They have an extremely friendly staff and a no nonsense attitude towards the big day.

Above: Myrna arrives early to put the finishing touches on her centerpieces.

Above: Owner Keith Hall was nice enough to consult me and the bride about the chair setup for the ceremony.  The lighting was great and the location was beautiful.

Above: Myrna and her girls have a toast before the ceremony.

Above: Another example of the beautiful grounds!

Above: Tons of fun at the reception!

Above:  The Pointe rests very close to the sound side of the ocean in the Outer Banks.  Sunset shots are a breeze!

Above: Glad I was able to catch this cheeky glance!  Congrats to you both!

Sunny and Ben’s Costa Rica Wedding

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Sunny and Ben had a handful of friends on hand for their wedding in Costa Rica.  The ceremony was held at the Hotel Villa Celetas which lies atop a rain forest in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica.

Congratulations to Sunny and Ben!

Sunny and Ben in Costa Rica

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Okay it took me way too long to blog my trip to Costa Rica with Sunny and Ben to photograph their wedding.  I had an awesome time with them.  We went horseback riding and ventured into town while prepping for the wedding at the resort.  We stayed at the Villa Celetas hotel which is nestled in the rain forest about one hour from the San Jose airport.  Here are a slew of images from the day before their wedding.

Below:  Horseback riding in the morning.  We had an escort with us who took us through a wooded area on a dirt road.

Below: Once reach the top of the hill, we rested under this shelter and were given fruit from our guide.

Below: After horseback riding, we went into town for water and Sunny shopped for wedding favors.

Below: The amphitheater on the edge of the resort was the location of the wedding ceremony.  Only guests have access to it.

Below: This was my favorite spot at the resort.  Guests have access to a private beach below the hotel.

Kathy and Jeff – Kill Devil Hills 10/03/09

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I’m so thankful my web designer fixed my blog.  I can finally get more content on here.  Kathy and Jeff held a super fantastic wedding outside of a GORGEOUS home in Kill Devil Hills in October of last year.  I’ve had quite my share of “event home” weddings but this one took the cake.  We were close enough to the sound for a beautiful sunset, the grounds were large enough for a tent and there was a nice pool area designated for cocktail hour.  Beautiful.

Above: The event home having just been decorated before the guests arrived.  The blue sash was a GREAT touch to hide the parking areas.

Above: Luckily I got my shots before getting shot!

Above: Why are women (especially moms) better at ties than men?

Above: Suites?  Check.  Sunglasses? Check.  Beer?  Check.

Above: Next to green, purple is my favorite color.  My future home will have a purple door.  I need a volunteer to distract my fiance whilst I paint it.

Above: Yes, I have done this image before but I love it so much!  And it doesn’t hurt the fact that Kathy has perfect legs for it!

Above: Spontaneous image of Kathy less than 10 minutes before the ceremony.

Above: The best part about being a kid at a wedding is you can kick back and chill until a grown up hurries you off to some ceremony!

Above: Kathy gets a kiss from both fathers before being given to Jeff.

Above: The sand ceremony.

Above: I’m all about shooting images from a child’s perspective.

Above: Jeff, I respect you for this.  You did what had to be done to get that garter!  🙂

Above: Congratulations Kathy and Jeff!  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.
