This was the first time I paired up with a makeup artist. Ellen Geanes is my neighbor and has been doing makeup for weddings. We collaborated with model Cierra Billingsley some time ago. Ellen’s work really increases the final product. Ellen can be contacted here for you kids with Facebook pages.

Taryn was one of the last subjects I shot in the Outer Banks before I left. She was a pleasure to work with.

Thanks Taryn!
Jamie’s Jeep is such a cool prop for images. She has let me use it before for her and Sara Hillert. I got angry with myself this time for not scheduling more time with her. She agreed to help me with some night photography coming up so I have that to look forward to!

Above: We were able to snap a few here before the site locked us in.

Above: I know, I know I use this location A LOT. I have even shot Jamie here before. She looks so good back here!

Will was great to work with. We shot at his house, downtown Rockingham and on his grandparents farm land. His parents were nice enough to cart us everywhere!

I was looking at the photography of Joshua Hoffine some time ago. He is a killer horror photographer. His work inspired me to do these. I have wanted to do some kind of horror type work but I wasn’t sure how to pull it off. Luckily Sara allowed me to kill her a few times for starters. She was a good sport about it. The top image was the most work. The blood is mixture of corn syrup, red food coloring, and black food coloring. I originally wanted to smear it all over her neck. The syrup was extremely sticky and hard to deal with. I quickly realized it would be hard to clean up. We kept it on the shirt and some of her pants. The bathroom image happened as she was cleaning up. The bottom image was the first one we did a few months ago. I have a friend who is a makeup artist in Charlotte. We plan on visiting her for a session then doing some shots. I’m not sure where I am going with this. If anyone has any ideas I would LOVE to hear them. Please comment below. More about Sara can be seen on her Myspace page by clicking here.

I met with Casey on a seriously cold morning to photograph her in downtown Ellerbe. We had been wanting to do something for quite a while. I’m glad we caught up with each other over the holiday.
