Susannah and Kyle’s Engagement Session

Saturday, April 20th, 2013

This was the first time I have been able to shoot inside Richmond Senior High School.  Susannah and Kyle met each other and became a couple here.  It was pretty awesome to photograph their engagement photos at the school. A sincere thanks to Principal Mckenzie for allowing us access to the school.

I've been wanting to shoot portraits by the lockers for quite some time.

Seniors have the chance to paint the tiles on the ceiling of classrooms. The room we staged our gear and wardrobe just happened to have Susannah's painted tile. It's the NC State one just above their heads.

Ashley and Josh’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Ashley and Josh won a free engagement session from me when they attended the Piedmont Bridal Show held at the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet, NC. I was a bit nervous due to both being photographers themselves. We hung out at Hinson Lake for a bit and had a swell time.

I really dig this area of the lake because of the back lighting.

Casey and David’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Casey, David and myself had two engagement sessions in Hamlet. We shot some images for their “Save The Date” annoucement, some individual portraits, as well as their couples shots. These sessions are really awesome when both are as excited about shooting as I am.

I really love this bridge across the street from the train depot.

We had only moments to get these neat shadows while in the train depot.

Natalie’s Senior Portraits

Sunday, August 26th, 2012

This was my first time working with Natalie.  She has posed before and was very comfortable with things.  I found out at the end that she is a former cheerleader and dancer.  That being the case, I am sure she will be posted on this blog again in the future.  I have a few dance images I want to try out.

Both of us braved LOTS of mosquitoes for this image. I’m glad we did!

I tried to back light Natalie as much as possible. Her hair is amazing when lit properly.

A little bit of Jessica Rabbit here!

Thanks Natalie! I hope we get to play together again. -duane

Brandi and Chris’ Engagement Session

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

There just isn’t enough light in a day when it comes to working with Brandi and Chris.  Both are photographers themselves. If the sun had not set, I could have kept shooting.  They are such a joy to work with, that it doesn’t seem like work.  I was honored when I was asked to capture their day.  Anytime another photographer hires me, I feel especially grateful.

Thanks Brandi and Chris.  And congratulations!

Jennifer’s Bridal Portraits

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

I wanted to post these the night Jennifer and I took them.  I loved them so much!  It was during this session I started doing slightly different things with posing.  Thanks Jennifer for indulging me!

This is one of my favorite images of Jennifer. I appreciate how her dress lays as well as the background of the Leak Wall garden.

I don't shoot too much inside the Leak Wall House. However I really like this yellow couch!

Thanks "Mom" for your help with Jennifer's images!

Portraits with the “C” family!

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

We all met at the Leak Wall House in downtown Rockingham.  This is a nice time of year now that the flowers are in bloom!

A beautiful family. Love the pastels!

Cute!

Thanks for choosing me as your photographer!  -duane

Miss M’s Church Dedication

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

Miss M’s church dedication was held recently at Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Richmond County.  Many family members were on hand for the event.  It was quite a special event for those involved.

Mother and Father with little "M". She was an angel for the complete service.

The preacher offers a few more kind words before the service starts.

At the beginning of the service, the parents bring their daughter before the church.

Other family members join the parents before the church.

The remaining family members in attendance stand for her dedication.

Her dedication is finished. The new family prepares to hear the sermon.

A beautiful dress for a beautiful girl.

A reception for the family after the service.

A quiet moment next to a different style of dedication respecting family.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day.  I hope we can work together again sometime!

Regards,
Duane

Kimberly and Justin’s Wedding

Saturday, March 10th, 2012

Kimberly and Justin were wed recently.  It is pretty easy to see we all had a swell time!

Which ones? Right or left? 🙂

I enjoy shooting some portraits with the party members sitting down. Plus it's easy on their shoes!

The men's floral is one of the easiest things for a bridal party to forget until the last minute. Whoever placed them on top of the groom gifts had a terrific idea.

Thanks mom!

If the ring bearer is no taller than four feet, then photographing the fellas sitting down evens them out!

Let me help you with that brother.

This is a great piece of foreshadowing. The name of the church room where Justin is standing is called new life. Justin is getting a new life moments from now.

Unfortunately some family could not make it. 🙁 Rest in peace.

A beautiful bride.

Love, love, love, when there is a balcony to shoot from!

I was lucky enough to grab this reflection!

A beautiful bridal party.

It was cold! Very cold! But it worth it for some outdoor images.

Congratulations to you both.  And thank you for allowing me to photograph your day!
