Mr. Heersma and his dog, Number Seven

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Today I was looking to go in and out of Family Dollar quickly as I had an appointment coming up.  A gentleman outside the store caught my eye and ears while there.  His name is Mr. Heersma.  He was playing a Yamaha keyboard for tips.  I did not have long to speak with him.  Luckily I had my camera and his permission to photograph him.  He said he plays gospel and many popular tunes on his keyboard.  He was accompanied by his dog, Number Seven.  Interesting name, huh?

Mr. Heersma is from New Jersey.  Unfortunately I was not able to spend more time with him.

I was with Mr. Heersma for less than 10 minutes. During that time he had more than a handful of donators.

This is Mr. Heersma's dog. He named the doggie Number Seven. I wasn't there long enough to find out the origin of the name.

Another image of Number Seven. He looked quite tired to me.

This is Mr. Heersma's dinner along with a playlist of songs he had written on a cigarette package.

His notebook of music. At first I did not recognize the image of The Carpenter's on it.

These hands must have been through a lot. He told me he has been playing for tip money in the Richmond County area for more than a year.

Mr. Heersma

How nice of Family Dollar to allow him a space to play for money.

We all met at the Leak Wall House in downtown Rockingham.  This is a nice time of year now that the flowers are in bloom!

A beautiful family. Love the pastels!

It’s been a while since I have worked with Mallory.  Our other sessions have been during the summer.  It was a pleasure to work with her again with fall surroundings.

Thanks Mallory!

This fella just oozes cool.  Especially when he access to a hat.  And when the black ants came out, he kept it together while dad brushed him off!

Halloween Is Almost Here!

Halloween is definitely almost here as little lady “M” models her pumpkin costume for us.  She has a lot of trick or treats ahead!

Happy Halloween!

Jennifer and Mac’s Engagement Session!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Jennifer, Mac, and I had a lot of fun on Sunday!  It isn’t often I find a couple who are both super-excited about their engagement images.  Both brought props and wardrobe that complimented our shooting areas.  If would have kept shooting if the sun hadn’t set!

Congratulations to you both!  Looking forward to your wedding next year!

Leslie

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Leslie was nice enough to model for me recently.  I’m still testing out textures, borders, and other actions in Photoshop.  I feel like these are good once in a while, but never for a full session.  Thanks Leslie!

Alyssa – Session II

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

The last time Alyssa and I were together we didn’t quite finish her portraits.  After quite a while our schedules lined up so we could finish.  We hit the Leak Wall House in downtown Rockingham, NC.  Thanks Alyssa!

The “W” Fellas

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

I had a blast with these two guys and their mom this afternoon.  We hung out in some of the alleys between the businesses on Main Street in Hamlet, NC.  We then the train tracks and depot.  See that fella on the left?  He is all about some trains.  Since we were not able to get on the train display at the depot, we hopped over to Hamlet Lake to play on the caboose.  Thanks for a great time!

Lil’ Heidi

Friday, March 25th, 2011

This is Heidi.  She is long overdue for a portrait sitting.  Her mother had her groomed yesterday so we took advantage of her fresh treatment.  She was very easy to work with.   I have been lucky with animals so far!
