Jennifer and Mac’s Engagement Session!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Jennifer, Mac, and I had a lot of fun on Sunday!  It isn’t often I find a couple who are both super-excited about their engagement images.  Both brought props and wardrobe that complimented our shooting areas.  If would have kept shooting if the sun hadn’t set!

Congratulations to you both!  Looking forward to your wedding next year!

Kelly and Mitch – Laurinburg, NC

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

Kelly and Mitch wed at the First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg NC.  It’s  a beautiful church with a rich history for Mitch.  He and his father have attended and worked there for years.

Kelly had a great set of bridesmaids to help her!

Mitch was able to play ping pong before the ceremony. I wish I could have played ping pong before my wedding!

You have to pull pretty hard to ring the bells there.

Mitch personally sanded and stained the doors to the church.

This was part of a game the DJ played with them. They had to raise the shoe of the person the DJ was describing. I guess Kelly disagreed!

One of many, many dancing images.

Congratulations to you both and thank you!

Lil’ Maddie

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Welcome to the world Maddie!

Above and Below:  Her father is an Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers fan.  Luckily we were able to incorporate them into her session.

Above:  One of Maddie’s cousins paid her a visit during the shoot.

Thanks to her mom and dad for letting me work with her.  🙂

Brittany – Class of 2011

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

I can’t wait to work with Scotland Senior High School Senior Brittany again!  She is totally comfortable in front of a camera.    Of course we shot your standard cap and gown photos, but we both wanted something a little different with her gown.  Hence the below photo.

Thanks Brittany!

The “W” Fellas

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

I had a blast with these two guys and their mom this afternoon.  We hung out in some of the alleys between the businesses on Main Street in Hamlet, NC.  We then the train tracks and depot.  See that fella on the left?  He is all about some trains.  Since we were not able to get on the train display at the depot, we hopped over to Hamlet Lake to play on the caboose.  Thanks for a great time!

Henry-Cudd Family Portraits

This is the 2nd time I have posed people on a John Deere tractor.  I absolutely love it!

Ellerbe Hometown Christmas

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

The town of Ellerbe held their “Hometown Christmas Event” tonight.  Businesses stayed open past normal business hours to serve snacks and goods to the locals.  The town lit their tree, sponsored hayrides and featured band performances.

Above:  The girl on the right is my Facebook buddy Meredith.  It was nice to finally meet her in person tonight.

Above:  This little stove kept a lot of us warm!

Above:  Many of the downtown businesses were decked out for Christmas.

Above:  These candles lit up the Ellerbe intersection.  It was quite beautiful.

Thunderstorms threatened to move this wedding from Marshes Light in downtown Manteo to indoors.  Luckily everything cleared just in time for the ceremony.

Thanks for a great time.  Congratulations!

So What Do You Do Besides Weddings And Portraits?

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

I was looking at the photography of Joshua Hoffine some time ago. He is a killer horror photographer. His work inspired me to do these. I have wanted to do some kind of horror type work but I wasn’t sure how to pull it off. Luckily Sara allowed me to kill her a few times for starters. She was a good sport about it. The top image was the most work. The blood is mixture of corn syrup, red food coloring, and black food coloring. I originally wanted to smear it all over her neck. The syrup was extremely sticky and hard to deal with. I quickly realized it would be hard to clean up. We kept it on the shirt and some of her pants. The bathroom image happened as she was cleaning up. The bottom image was the first one we did a few months ago. I have a friend who is a makeup artist in Charlotte. We plan on visiting her for a session then doing some shots. I’m not sure where I am going with this. If anyone has any ideas I would LOVE to hear them. Please comment below.  More about Sara can be seen on her Myspace page by clicking here.
