From the Richmond County Schools Friday Highlights newsletter: Richmond County Schools Educators of the Year were honored during the Convocation Ceremony at Cole Auditorium on August 19. Christy Mabe, Richmond Early College High Teacher of the Year, was selected as the district-wide teacher of the year. She will represent Richmond County Schools in the regional level of the state Teacher of the Year competition. All of her students were proficient on their EOCs last year.
These images were taken for her portfolio and for fun! Congratulations Christy. Enjoy your 2011 Toyota Camry, courtesy of Rockingham’s Griffin Toyota!

For Katie and Wes’ engagement photos, we started at Camp Millstone in Ellerbe, NC and ended up in downtown Southern Pines. I was lucky enough to have my wife Michele with me in Ellerbe. She helped me with the images from the canoe.

Above: These were lots of fun to shoot. Thanks Michele!

Above and Below: Serious NCSU fans!

Above: This was our move to Southern Pines. The train tracks in their downtown area are very fun to play with!

Above: I’m always trying to inject superhero imagery into things I shoot!

Children from all over Richmond County are taking place in Missoula Children’s Theatre traveling show “The Princess and the Pea”. Below are some rehearsal images from the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet, NC. Performances are Saturday August 8th at 3pm and again at 6pm.

Jordan and Nick held their ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Hamlet, NC. Afterwords we left for their reception at the Cole Auditorium.

Above: Joy was great when working with the fellas.

Above: I love when Grandmothers are able to visit the bride before the ceremony!

Above: Packed!

Thanks to Jordan and Nick for allowing me to be a part of their day!
Kimberly and Patrick held their wedding at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC this past May. The area is quite beautiful and the staff is very accommodating to the wedding party and family.

Above: Kim and her mom. I love it when the reflections line up perfectly!

Above: A beautiful setting for a beautiful bride.

Above: This is one of my favorite guy shots. It was my homepage image for a while!

Congratulations Kim and Patrick!
It’s hard to believe Amy and Matt had their wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn beach access in April of this year. It just doesn’t feel that long ago we were in Kitty Hawk! There were plenty overcast skies but the rain held off until the reception began.

Above: Important ring bearer activities.

Above: Important groomsmen activities.

Above: There was a slight drizzle during the pre-wedding photos. Amy’s bridesmaids were very helpful!

Above: I was too far away to know what was so funny during the ring exchange.
Above: Don’t worry. There was no mess!
Congratulations to you both!
Myrna and Paul decided to hold their wedding and ceremony at The Pointe Golf Club in Powell’s Point, NC. I had never shot there before. I was very surprised at the hospitality of the facility. There were rooms for the bridal party, plenty of reception space, and beautiful grounds for the ceremony and pictures. I was able to spend some time with owner Keith Hall and his manager Angela. They are both fast at work creating an all-inclusive wedding facility with the Pointe. They have an extremely friendly staff and a no nonsense attitude towards the big day.

Above: Myrna arrives early to put the finishing touches on her centerpieces.

Above: Owner Keith Hall was nice enough to consult me and the bride about the chair setup for the ceremony. The lighting was great and the location was beautiful.

Above: Myrna and her girls have a toast before the ceremony.

Above: Another example of the beautiful grounds!

Above: Tons of fun at the reception!

Above: The Pointe rests very close to the sound side of the ocean in the Outer Banks. Sunset shots are a breeze!

Above: Glad I was able to catch this cheeky glance! Congrats to you both!
A big congrats goes to the Senior Class of 2010! Below is a slide show of some of the people I had the pleasure of working with.
