Ashley and Josh’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Ashley and Josh won a free engagement session from me when they attended the Piedmont Bridal Show held at the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet, NC. I was a bit nervous due to both being photographers themselves. We hung out at Hinson Lake for a bit and had a swell time.

I really dig this area of the lake because of the back lighting.

Casey and David’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Casey, David and myself had two engagement sessions in Hamlet. We shot some images for their “Save The Date” annoucement, some individual portraits, as well as their couples shots. These sessions are really awesome when both are as excited about shooting as I am.

I really love this bridge across the street from the train depot.

We had only moments to get these neat shadows while in the train depot.

Brandi and Chris’ Engagement Session

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

There just isn’t enough light in a day when it comes to working with Brandi and Chris. ¬†Both are photographers themselves. If the sun had not set, I could have kept shooting. ¬†They are such a joy to work with, that it doesn’t seem like work. ¬†I was honored when I was asked to capture their day. ¬†Anytime another photographer hires me, I feel especially grateful.

Thanks Brandi and Chris.  And congratulations!

Marcie and Ben’s Engagement Session

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

This was my first shoot in Bennettsville, SC.  I do not get this way often.  I was amazed at the photogenic locations to be had.  Marci, Ben, and I had much fun shooting in and around this historic home across the street from their wedding site.

This was a favorite of ours. It was printed on canvas and gifted to Marci and Ben.

Marci is quite adorable with those boots!

The colorful landscaping at the house made for striking background colors.

We were allowed to go into the attic of the house. It made for great window lighting!

There is an old barn type building in the back. Structures like this make for great black and white images.

We ended the session by going to the church across the street and playing on the swings!

Thanks so much to Marci and Ben for choosing me as their photographer.  I will have their wedding images up soon!

Jennifer and Mac’s Engagement Session!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Jennifer, Mac, and I had a lot of fun on Sunday! ¬†It isn’t often I find a couple who are both super-excited about their engagement images. ¬†Both brought props and wardrobe that¬†complimented¬†our shooting areas. ¬†If would have kept shooting if the sun hadn’t set!

Congratulations to you both!  Looking forward to your wedding next year!

A Very Nice Card From My Last Bride And Groom!

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

I received this nice photo in the mail yesterday. ¬†It is from Katie and Wes. ¬†Their wedding was in Seven Lakes, NC. ¬†The image of them writing “Thank You” is from their engagement session. ¬†In most cases, I include a free engagement¬†session¬†for my clients. ¬†It’s an excellent way to create “Thank You” cards for friends and¬†family¬†after the wedding. ¬†Thank you Katie and Wes!

Katie and Wes’ Engagement Sessions

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

For Katie and Wes’ engagement photos, we started at Camp Millstone in Ellerbe, NC and ended up in downtown Southern Pines.¬† I was lucky enough to have my wife Michele with me in Ellerbe.¬† She helped me with the images from the canoe.

Above: These were lots of fun to shoot.  Thanks Michele!

Above and Below: Serious NCSU fans!

Above: This was our move to Southern Pines.  The train tracks in their downtown area are very fun to play with!

Above: I’m always trying to inject superhero imagery into things I shoot!

Jordan and Nick’s Engagement Session

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Thanks so much to Jordan and Nick for showing me this merry-go-round!

Their pet ferrets were hilarious!  They put liquid on their hands and noses to interact with them for the photos.

Congratulations to you both.  Looking forward to the wedding!

Mike and Sharon’s Engagement Session

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

After a false start (my fault) Mike, Sharon, and I tooled around downtown Rockingham.¬† Afterwords we went to Hinson Lake.¬† I should go out there more often.¬† It’s quite nice.
