Cayle and her daughter met me at Cedarock Park in Burlington.  This area is very quaint and has terrific lighting.

Amber and Dan’s Engagement Session

Sunday, February 19th, 2017

I had heard Dorothea Dix had been converted into a park.  Amber suggested we shoot here.  I’m glad she did.  There are great opportunities to get the Raleigh skyline in the background.  Very much looking forward to your wedding!

The “B” Family – Chapel Hill, NC

Sunday, December 18th, 2016

This day in Chapel Hill was VERY COLD.  These girls were the very definition of the word “trooper”.  They braved the wind and temperature for us to get these and more shots.  I cannot wait to work with them in fairer temperatures.

Kimberly’s Bridal Portraits at Ellerbe Springs

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Months before Kimberly’s wedding with Patrick, we shot her bridal portraits at Ellerbe Springs Bed and Breakfast in Ellerbe, NC. The location rests on 50 acres with gorgeous landscapes and cozy rooms for bridal preparation.  Kimberly allowed me to shoot some images of her getting ready for her portrait.

Above: After all was said and done we shot a few more relaxed images.  Thanks Kimberly!

Kathy and Jeff – Kill Devil Hills 10/03/09

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I’m so thankful my web designer fixed my blog.  I can finally get more content on here.  Kathy and Jeff held a super fantastic wedding outside of a GORGEOUS home in Kill Devil Hills in October of last year.  I’ve had quite my share of “event home” weddings but this one took the cake.  We were close enough to the sound for a beautiful sunset, the grounds were large enough for a tent and there was a nice pool area designated for cocktail hour.  Beautiful.

Above: The event home having just been decorated before the guests arrived.  The blue sash was a GREAT touch to hide the parking areas.

Above: Luckily I got my shots before getting shot!

Above: Why are women (especially moms) better at ties than men?

Above: Suites?  Check.  Sunglasses? Check.  Beer?  Check.

Above: Next to green, purple is my favorite color.  My future home will have a purple door.  I need a volunteer to distract my fiance whilst I paint it.

Above: Yes, I have done this image before but I love it so much!  And it doesn’t hurt the fact that Kathy has perfect legs for it!

Above: Spontaneous image of Kathy less than 10 minutes before the ceremony.

Above: The best part about being a kid at a wedding is you can kick back and chill until a grown up hurries you off to some ceremony!

Above: Kathy gets a kiss from both fathers before being given to Jeff.

Above: I’m all about shooting images from a child’s perspective.

Above: Jeff, I respect you for this.  You did what had to be done to get that garter!  🙂

Above: Congratulations Kathy and Jeff!  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.

Jamie – And Her Big Ass Jeep!

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Jamie’s Jeep is such a cool prop for images.  She has let me use it before for her and Sara Hillert.  I got angry with myself this time for not scheduling more time with her.  She agreed to help me with some night photography coming up so I have that to look forward to!

Above: I know, I know I use this location A LOT.  I have even shot Jamie here before.  She looks so good back here!

“Little Women” In Rehearsal – Theatre Of Dare

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

The Theatre of Dare is currently rehearsing Little Women.  The cast meets at least twice a week to rehearse the many musical numbers.  The show is being directed by theatre vet Jason Forbes.  I was lucky enough to shoot some of their rehersal recently.  The show will be performed at the COA Roanoke Island Campus Auditorium May 1-3 and 8-10.  For more information click here.
Above from top to bottom: Rebecca Kukacka, Diane Forbes, Zoe Manolas, and Teresa Rogers are the four sisters in the title roles.
