1975, 1986, 2011

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Here are three images from various times in my wife Michele’s life.  Here she is in 1975 at her sister’s high school graduation.  The next image is in 1986 at her own high school graduation.  Then finally in 2011 celebrating her own graduation UNC Charlotte where she obtained a master’s degree.  Yay honey!

The “M” Family

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

Today the “M” family and I shot family portraits around Hinson Lake and their home.  I was a little bummed at first due to the construction equipment and signs all over Hinson Lake.  But that didn’t stop us!

I believe this was little "M"'s idea. Mom, Dad, and I were talking for a moment. Next thing you know he was down on the ground playing in the leaves. So we joined him!

This fella sure had a lot of energy this afternoon!

Although the Hinson Lake area is under construction, we still found neat little places to shoot.

Their land around their home is quite photogenic as well. Especially this time of year.

Thank you all for allowing me to work with you today. I hope we can do this again sometime!

2011 Seaboard Festival – Hamlet NC

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

The city of Hamlet, NC kicked off its annual Seaboard Festival today.  There were booths of all types.  Food, crafts, photography, face painters, singers and train rides were among them on this brisk Saturday.  I hope you enjoy some of the images I captured!

Main street was pretty packed for the whole day.

Two trains were running non-stop. Each were on opposite ends of Main Street.

Snow cones, chips, funnel cakes, hot dogs, sausages, asian, turkey legs, blooming onions, popcorn.......

This was one of my favorite booths at the festival. This fella makes rubber band shotguns. He fashions wood into the shape of a shotgun. He then applies a clothespin plus a hook for the rubber band. Afterwards, you have a fully functional rubber band shooter. This gentleman told me there was some concern about selling these at the festival. The officials told him he could come this year, and would base future participation as long as there were no mishaps with the rubber bands. I personally hope to see him again! Below is a six second video I shot of a demonstration.

Kids games and the ever popular Scuba Steve were on hand.

I didn't realize this, but most vendors do not have brick and mortar stores. Nor are they online. They sell only in festivals and fairs. The gentleman above takes his huge collection of toy cars from fair to fair for his business.

I should have gotten my face painted!

And finally, lots of music from local church singers.

If I photographed you and gave you a card, please email me at info@duanecochran.com or call me to get your image.  910-334-3048

See you next year!

Blaire – Class of 2011

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

I had so much fun with Blaire!  We shot on the square in downtown Rockingham and walked around a bit for more locations.  We were lucky enough to find plenty of dandelions in bloom also.  She has an outgoing personality making it a pleasure to work with her.  We will definitely be shooting together again.

Thanks Blaire!

Senior Portraits – Seth: Class of 2011

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

It’s been about five years since I last photographed Seth.  He is tremendously easy to work with and solid in front of the camera.  Thanks Seth!

Above:  The old Safie Mill in East Rockingham is almost completely gone.  I will miss shooting there.

Rockingham Senior Portraits – Kayla

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing Kayla about two weeks ago.  We hit the Leak Wall House in downtown Rockingham and then ventured to city hall and the public library.
