shedd_schuetter_444This was my first shoot at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst.  This place was pretty swell.  Michelle in their catering group was very helpful with all of our needs.  After the wedding we hit Village of Pinehurst for a few more images.  Thanks to Stephanie and Jeremiah for a great shoot!

Stephanie and Jeremiah’s Rehearsal Day + The Big Sandwich

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Stephanie and Jeremiah held their rehearsal Friday morning, the day before their wedding at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, NC.  We shot a few images outside the hotel before their rehearsal dinner at their home in Southern Pines.  For dinner they had one of the biggest sandwiches I have ever seen!

I was looking at the photography of Joshua Hoffine some time ago. He is a killer horror photographer. His work inspired me to do these. I have wanted to do some kind of horror type work but I wasn’t sure how to pull it off. Luckily Sara allowed me to kill her a few times for starters. She was a good sport about it. The top image was the most work. The blood is mixture of corn syrup, red food coloring, and black food coloring. I originally wanted to smear it all over her neck. The syrup was extremely sticky and hard to deal with. I quickly realized it would be hard to clean up. We kept it on the shirt and some of her pants. The bathroom image happened as she was cleaning up. The bottom image was the first one we did a few months ago. I have a friend who is a makeup artist in Charlotte. We plan on visiting her for a session then doing some shots. I’m not sure where I am going with this. If anyone has any ideas I would LOVE to hear them. Please comment below.  More about Sara can be seen on her Myspace page by clicking here.
