Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

I met with Casey on a seriously cold morning to photograph her in downtown Ellerbe. We had been wanting to do something for quite a while. I’m glad we caught up with each other over the holiday.

Manteo to Broadway to Manteo

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

William Ivey Long gave a presentation today in Manteo Town Hall titled “Manteo to Broadway to Manteo”. The room was packed with folks while Long gave a slideshow presentation detailing his early days in North Carolina and his parents involvement with the Lost Colony. The event was far from formal as most everyone knew the people in the slideshow Long narrated. It was more like a family affair. Everyone’s favorite son/nephew/cousin came home to let us know how the events of Broadway mirror the productions of the Lost Colony. Long detailed creative work flow with his sketches of costumes, to the final wardrobe pieces that have adorned the likes of Hugh Jakcman, Melanie Griffith, David Hyde Pierce and John Stamos to name a few. Some of the more emotional images Long presented were of the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the costume shop of the Lost Colony. While upsetting to view, Long conveyed how the fire reconnected the community. The message was clear after seeing the new costumes Long produced in images he shot himself of the 2008 Lost Colony cast. After the presentation there was a Q and A session with actual costumes from previous Broadway performances. Manteo Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

The town of Manteo kicked off their annual Christmas parade today downtown. The parade was emceed by Della Basnight and multiple Tony award winner William Ivey Long. Manteo Elementary School sponsored photographs with Santa as well as a bake sale. Local schools, businesses, and Elizabeth R company took to the streets for the morning festivities.

Isaac of Nags Head chases bubbles while waiting for the parade to start.

Five year old Celeste asked Santa for diapers for her baby doll for Christmas.

Kevin of Manteo along with friends and family help photographer Allen Hooper of Ocean Edge Productions get kids to smile for the camera.

Seven year old Summer could not quite remember at first what to tell Santa she wanted for Christmas. She soon decided on a Little Miss Pet Shop. Santa gave her bubbles to play with afterward.

Five time Tony award winner William Ivey Long served as Grand Marshal for the parade. This was Long’s first participation in the parade as he was invited by Della Basnight. Soon after, friend Andy Griffith joined him for the parade march. Long will be giving a presentation tomorrow called Manteo meets Broadway in the downtown area.

Melissa + A Little Bit Of Jamie

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Melissa and her husband Jamie met me and my girlfriend Michele in the downtown area and we had some fun! We were able to shoot these images in downtown Rockingham before the leaves lost their color.

Katie and Derek Engagement Session

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Katie and Derek were a lot of fun to hang around with. We walked all over Manteo taking photographs. We hit the piers on looking the Elizabeth II, the old courthouse and Manteo Booksellers to name a few. This is much more fun when the couple are into it. I can’t wait until their wedding. Unfortunately it isn’t until 2010.

Outer Banks Snow Day!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

On November 21st, the Outer Banks had a light snow day. I drove around the OBX to capture some of the snowfall. It didn’t last long. By noon the sun was out and it all had melted.
