There just isn’t enough light in a day when it comes to working with Brandi and Chris. Both are photographers themselves. If the sun had not set, I could have kept shooting. They are such a joy to work with, that it doesn’t seem like work. I was honored when I was asked to capture their day. Anytime another photographer hires me, I feel especially grateful.
Thanks Brandi and Chris. And congratulations!
Kimberly and Justin were wed recently. It is pretty easy to see we all had a swell time!

Some time ago I was able to snap this image of a cheerleader getting attacked by a vampire. Luckily, she had this sword handy!
Jennifer, Mac, and I had a lot of fun on Sunday! It isn’t often I find a couple who are both super-excited about their engagement images. Both brought props and wardrobe that complimented our shooting areas. If would have kept shooting if the sun hadn’t set!
Congratulations to you both! Looking forward to your wedding next year!

About two weeks before these images were shot, Mitch contacted me about wanting to take some portraits with his girlfriend Kelly. However he wants to propose to her during the session so we can capture it. We met at the Lions Club park in Ellerbe first. We shot some fun images in the park and added Mitch’s dog Romeo in them too. Just before leaving to go to Ellerbe Springs, Mitch passed a bag to me with some props along with the ring inside.
Above: The first image from the porch of the Ellerbe Springs. I was getting excited! I’m sure Mitch was too.
Above: The telescope was one of the props we used to set up the proposal shot. Mitch had the idea of using props that would eventually lead to me handing him the ring box as one of them.
Above: The he popped the question. And she said yes! It was very emotional to witness!

Ellerbe Springs in Ellerbe, NC is a great place to take bridal portraits. I have been working with owner Donna for over a year shooting images of brides and couples on their grounds. I created this blog post so future brides can see the area from my perspective. Click here to view a gallery of images from the Inn. These will give you a closer look at the overall feel of this quaint area.
